Purchasing a Frosted Christmas Tree

dessy321
This year I am searching for an artificial Christmas tree. There are many to choose from, do I want a slim, medium, full, fir, or spruce. Do I want a palm, upside down, or traditional? Do I go Flocked or frosted? What I found is, the ones that give a nice realistic wintry touch is, the frosted Christmas tree. I made the mistake when I was out at Home Depot and Lowe's looking, that a flocked and frosted are the same. With a flocked tree, the wintry snow look is sprayed on, looks heavy, and in time the flocking turns yellow. Whereas a frosted tree, has the gently kiss of snow look. Before I headed out, I phoned many stores, from JcPenny, Home Depot , Sears, and even Kmarts, to ensure the stores I go to, had these trees, and if so, that I could see what they looked like. Unfortunately the selection in store for these trees is almost Nil. The stores had one or two flocked on the floor, but I had found several on line stores, including the ones listed above that sells frosted trees.

Home Depot: Online

Although there are only two on line that I found, these trees come with an on/off pedal switch which is nice. The trees they have are:

7.5 Ft Colorado Spruce, with 700 frosted lights, and 1983 tips. The price is $269.00.

9 Ft Colorado Spruce, with 900 frosted lights and 3182 tips. The price is $369.00.

Sears: Online

These trees come with a metal base stand, and have hinged limbs for easy assembly. The trees I found on line are:

6.5 Ft Medium Hawthorne fir, with frosted tips and berries, the lights have 400 Clear bulbs, and 1430 tips. The price $199.99.

6.5 Ft Full Hawthorne fir, with frosted tip and berries, the lights have 500 Clear bulbs, and 1610 tips. The price $249.99.

7.5 Ft Medium Hawthorne fir, with frosted tips and berries, with 450 Clear bulbs, and 1657 tips. The price $269.99.

9.5 Ft Full Hawthorne fir, with frosted tips and berries, with 1800 Clear bulbs, and 3838 tips. The price $599.99.

7.5 Ft Glacier Christmas tree, has 700 frosted lights, 1237 frosted tips, and is marked down $377.00 from $497.00.

9.5 Ft Glacier Christmas tree, marked down $687.00 from $977.00.

In searching for a frosted Christmas tree, there is many to choose from. The one that seems most appealing to me is the tree with the alternating blinking lights. I have placed my order for the 6.5 foot Glacier Christmas tree. The sizes and shapes vary so much, that anyone's preference can be found. Some of the on line sites offered the information on bases, other did not, but had a section off to the side on bases. All the frosted trees looked very nice, and the wide variety sure makes it hard to choose. Your selection of slim, to full, and how many lights you want, are plenty. If you are in the market for a frosted tree, I am sure one of the stores above, will have the right one for you, and the size for the space you have.
