Pure Mineral Makeup Review: Smokin Haute Eye Collection by Orglamix

Nina Rotz
Orglamix Smokin Haute Eye Collection contains six different shades of pure mineral eye shadow colors. The products are made without harsh chemicals, parabens and synthetic dyes. The online reviews for this company and their pure mineral beauty products were glowing with praise. I could not wait to try the products for myself. I found Orglamix Smokin Haute Eye Collection easy to use with outstanding results. There are several ways to use this set of six different eye shadow colors; individually, blending two or more colors for a unique look, or to create the smokey eyes effect.

Smokey eyes are currently one of the hottest beauty trends. I love creating sultry and sophisticated smokey eyes by blending purple, gray and black eye shadows. The dark eye shadow colors bring out the blue and green tones of my eyes. I polish off the look with black eyeliner and mascara. Smokey eyes are a look that takes practice and patience to achieve. Using pure mineral eye shadows to create a smokey eye effect produces better results than using solid eye shadows.

Orglamix Smokin Haute Eye - Essential Eye Collection
The kit contains six pure mineral eye shadow jars with shaker tops. A dual applicator makeup brush is included, with the kit packaged in a black sachet bag.

Pure mineral makeup, including eye shadows, contains no irritants such as chemical additives, fillers, and fragrances.

Orglamix Smokin Haute Eye Collection - The Dual Applicator Brush
I love the dual applicator makeup brush. The flat end applies pure mineral eye shadow well, and blends colors. I use it to blend eyeliner as well. The angled point works well for blending eyeliner. It also gets small touches of eye shadow color in a particular area of my eyelid. The brush fibers are soft and apply color over my eyelids like silk. Both brush ends clean well without any deterioration to their fibers.

Orglamix Smokin Haute Eye Collection - The Colors
This collection is true to its name: the mineral colors are rich and dark, perfect for creating that trendy smokey eye look. The mineral eye shadow colors are stunning. I do not think that pictures do them justice. I was skeptical at first that I would enjoy such deep eye shadow color tones. The great things about Orglamix Smokin Haute Eye is that I can blend colors, wear them as light as possible during the day, or turn them into a dramatic look when going out to an event. My favorite feature of Orglamix Smokin Haute Eye Collection is that a dab of eye shadow truly goes a long way! A dab of mineral eye shadow color glides and blends very well on my eyelids. I create a day look by using one eye shadow color (usually Storm) and finish it off by adding black mascara. On some days, when I feel adventurous, I use different color eyeliner to make my mineral eye shadow color pop.

Midnight
Midnight is a jet-black mineral eye shadow color, as dark as it comes, with a slight touch of shimmer. I used Midnight as an accent color or eyeliner. The angled applicator brush was precise in the process of outlining the contour of my eyes at the base of the eyelashes.

Storm
Storm is a gray mineral color that looks great day or night. I use Storm more than any other color in the kit. This particular mineral eye shadow blends well with other colors to create unique shades.

Obsidian
Obsidian is a midnight blue mineral eye shadow color. It is dark and rich, a little of this mineral color covers both eyelids. Obsidian looks nice with my eye color and black eyeliner. I could not turn it into a daywear color, but it always sparkled at nighttime.

Bordeaux
Bordeaux is a purple mineral eye shadow color. I never thought that I would like or wear a purple eye shadow. My husband made a comment that I would never like such a shade of color. He was wrong, as the purple looked so pretty with my natural eye color. I mixed Bordeaux and Storm often, creating a shimmering light purple eye shadow color that looked gorgeous with silver or white eyeliner.

Fig
Fig is an interesting color, as it seems to be a hybrid of eggplant and copper. Unapplied, Fig is a shimmering copper but on my eyelids, it has a purple tone. Fig is a stunning mineral eye shadow color for day or night. It is gorgeous when used with Midnight or Storm.

Olive
Olive is a green mineral eye shadow color with a hint of gold. Olive is another one of my favorite eye shadow colors, as it works well with day or night looks. I did not mix Olive much with other eye shadows, as it looked pretty with my skin tone and eye color all on its own.

Orglamix Smokin Haute Eye Collection - Product Recommendations
I would recommend this mineral eye shadow kit to women of all ages. Smokey eyes may not be a beauty look you are into, but the colors are good individually or blend into truly unique shades.

I think that pure mineral eye shadows look better when a layer of concealer or eye shadow primer is applied. I would recommend that you use eye shadow primer; many affordable ones are available at your local supermarket. Using an eye shadow primer will reduce creasing and wearing off with any eye shadow product.

Overall, Orglamix Smokin Haute Eye Collection is a beautiful set of pure mineral eye shadow colors. I found something to like about each color. The kit costs $24.99, which comes out to less than $5 per jar. I do not think that a store brand of pure mineral eye shadow is that affordable. In addition, a quality dual precision applicator was included in my kit; that was a big money saver.

I receive many compliments when wearing Orglamix Smokin Haute Eye pure mineral eye shadows. My mother-in-law would ask every time if I could create the same looks for her eyes. The first day I tried Orglamix, I picked up my son from daycare and all of his teachers wanted to know which makeup line I was using. Women love to be complimented, but we love an affordable quality beauty product even more. I give Orglamix Smokin Haute Eye Collection a 5/5 rating.

Besides eye shadows, Orglamix creates a full line of pure mineral beauty products and makeup tools. Check out their Etsy shop at http://orglamix.etsy.com.

I'll have to pass this on to my daughter. She's always buying different kinds of makeup.
