I keep a small travel size bottle of the Purell hand sanitizer on my desk and use it whenever I feel the need. This stuff is alcohol based and dries quickly and makes me feel a little more germ-free. My son calls it "magic soap" because you don't need any water. Something he learned in pre-school.
My experience:
In addition to the small travel size I keep on my desk at work, I have a mini version that I keep in both our cars, for spills or whatever might come our way while traveling. There is also a larger dispenser version on my kitchen sink. Sometimes its more necessary to cleanse your hands with this product instead of regular washing. Or perhaps sometimes we will wash our hands and then use this to finish off.
The great thing is that you can use this anytime without water or towels, as it dries quickly. It leaves no residue and actually softens your hands if you don't over use it during the day. I probably only use it once a day in most cases, but I feel it helps and aids in moisturizing during these dry winter months.
The active ingredient is ethyl alcohol, I guess that would explain the smell of alcohol as it dries. This is not an issue for me and helps reassure me that cleansing is taking place.
