Purina Beggin Canadian Cuts

My dogs are valued members of our family. They are regularly indulged with new treats. I had a great coupon worth $1.50 off a bag of the newest addition to the Purina Beggin Strips line of dog treats: Beggin Canadian Cuts, so I purchased a bag of treats for the dogs. In this review I will share my thoughts and opinions about this new dog snack in an effort to help other pet owners make an informed buying decision the next time they are interested in purchasing a treat for their four legged friends.

Purina is a very well known brand of pet foods. I have been feeding my dogs Purina brand products for quite some time now and I have always been impressed with the selection of products, the price and the quality of the Purina line of pet supplies. My dogs are very familiar with Beggin Strips, the treat that looks like Bacon.

When I brought home the bag of Purina Beggin brand dog snacks Canadian Cuts my dogs were excited to try this treat out. They were willing to sit, speak and shake hands for a treat. These treats are round, and quite large. They are designed for tossing or throwing. As the package describes them they are a meat Frisbee... I was impressed to see that they do fly like a Frisbee and it was fun to watch my dogs catching these treats.

What I did not like is easy to understand. One of my dogs is large, while the other is a medium breed. The medium breed dog had a very hard time eating these treats due to their large size. I worried he might choke on Purina Beggin Canadian Cuts, so we must break these into smaller pieces for him, which eliminates tossing the treat like a Frisbee as it is intended.

These treats are made with real pork, sugar, soy grits, Canadian bacon flavoring and garlic powder among other things. I was puzzled by the addition of garlic powder because my veterinarian told me that is one of the food items a dog should never eat along with chocolate and raisins.

All in all my dogs enjoyed this treat, but they are not really picky about treats. I would recommend this dog snack to owners of large breed dogs, f you are planning to feed this treat to smaller breeds I would recommend that you break the treat into smaller pieces for the safety of your dog.

good review! i also have been stumped with the addition of garlic in some of the items ive seen. I think it is ok for cooked garlic to be fed to your dog though. Plus ive heard that it helps to repel fleas. (might not be true though) I am dissappointed that it has sugar. dogs do not need that! It causes hyperactivity, diabetes, and a host of other health issues. good review though!
