Purina ONE BeyOnd Launches "$1 Million in One Day" Campaign
$1 Million Dollars to the Charity of Your Choice
The event is taking place nationwide with Josh Lucas in New York, Duece McCallister (former New Orleans Saints football player) in New Orleans, Chef Michelle Bernstein in Miami, and snowboarder Chris Klug in Denver. Each team was given $200,000 to give to people and charities for the "$1 Million in ONE Day" campaign.
Josh Lucas is very proud to be a part of this campaign,"It's a great feeling to be a part of a campaign that gives people the opportunity to look beyond themselves, and there is no better time to do this than during the holiday season. As a dog owner, and dog lover, I'm happy to support a brand like Purina ONE® that aims to make a positive difference in pets and the world we share."
Since only four teams hit the streets today there is still $200,000 that Purina ONE wants to give away. The last of the funds will be distributed to charity online from their Facebook page (Purina ONE's Facebook). Fans will vote for their favorite charity and the remaining $200,000 will be split among the top 5 charities based on the percentage of votes.
Purina ONE® decided to give back this holiday season after surveying people to find out how they give back during the holiday season. Over 90 percent of people, across all demographics, surveyed said they wished that they could give more to charity. Those who have not given to charity this year cited the reason was a lack of disposable income. Thus the "$1 Million in One Day" campaign was born and happens to coincide with the launch of Purina ONE® beyOnd™ brand which will appear on store shelves in 2011.
Purina ONE®'s newest product is a manifestation of the "spreading the goodness" idea launched with the "$1 Million in One Day" campaign. Purina ONE® beyOnd™ is an all-nature cat and dog food made with real meat, whole grains, fruits and vegetables. It is also packaged with 92 percent renewable materials.
