Purple Lies--Haiku

Coral Levang
Blackberry-stained tongues
Confessed guilt unwittingly.
Kitchen Court convened.

(Note from author: Some of my fondest childhood memories were the summers spent in the Pacific Northwest picking wild blackberries with my brother and sister. We came home stained and scratched, but happy. There were times we were told not to eat any berries because it "would spoil our appetites." Somehow, our mother always knew what we had been up to, despite our claims of innocence.)
