Mary, there's some sort of "haiku" contest going on. (5/7/5 syllable poetry). It seemed that the contest was being mounted to 'celebrate' AC's recent affiliation with Yahoo. The "theme" escape(d) me, as well. I kind of like your "gay pride" interpretation, so, as the author, I think I'll just let people read their own meaning(s) into the extremely short art form. I'm as clueless as you are...and I wrote it, so go figure.
um...did not know if this was an article about Purple states ~ verus, red or blue ~ or about Gay Pride. I do like shades of purple, lavender a fav color.
