The Purple Rain Restaurant and Lounge is a large facility that houses various areas inside. They have a large area when you walk in the door that has an endless number of pool tables and just to the left is a large bar area that has flat screen televisions for your viewing pleasure. The next area is the private room which is where they have LIVE music and other events that take place. It's a good space with tables and chairs and has a dance floor in the center close to the DJ booth.
While I was enjoying the "Harlem Nights" event at the Purple Rain Lounge I decided to turn my attention to their menu. I notice that they had your typical lounge style dishes; club sandwiches, burgers, fries and chicken wings. I have made a point whenever I try a new place, to always ask them what their specialty is which is what I did and was told that the Purple Rain Restaurant and Lounge was well known for their wings. So I thought, "the wings I shall have" so I ordered the lemon pepper wings. Those of you who know me, know that I am indeed a wing specialist as there was a time that I ate wings at least 3 times a week. Let me tell you these wings were fantastic! The server nailed it in her recommendation. You can order as little as a 9 piece or as much as 50 pieces or more for large parties in such flavors as hot buffalo, jerk and lemon pepper.
The Purple Rain Restaurant and Lounge had wonderful musicians at the recent "Harlem Nights tribute to Michael Jackson" that included William "Mr. Jonz" Jones, John Eley, Maria Noexplanation Montgomery, Sylvester "Cut Zoo" Ogletree and Jus English. The Purple Rain Lounge has hosted events that include the UFC and red, white and blue wrestling. They will be undergoing renovations soon, so visit their website at http://www.purplerainatl.com/ to find out what's on the schedule for the fall. They are also available for private parties that include Birthdays, Weddings, Anniversaries or Corporate events. Give them a call today to inquire about pricing at 770-418-9086.
Bottom-line: Great LIVE music, Good food, excellent prices and close to great shopping at Gwinnett Mall.
