Mr Russ has brought a challenge to my heart. I'm hoping this Op-Ed piece will do the same for you. I know if I begin my day with a positive attitude my day goes well. I am realizing after reading Mr Bob Russ of the Sandusky-Register's article that I too have a contagious affect on the folks that I encounter. If I am down and negative when I answer the phone it doesn't take long till the person that called has picked up my attitude. If I am upbeat that same person almost sings along with me. Think about it. Isn't that true for you too.
Remember the old song lyric "Smile and the whole world smiles with you..." I noted this during a trip to WalMart this week-end. Nearly every person I encountered had a frown on their face, was angry, or looked as if they were ready to cry. I was beginning to relate to their expressions when I recalled Mr Bob Russ of the Sandusky-Register's' article. I began with a forced smile and a few friendly Hi's. I slowly began to feel better and noted a few folks seemed to soften their expression. You should have seen the lady's face when I complimented her on how well her children were behaving.
My challenge for today is to smile even when it hurts. I want to put a smile on my face when I answer the phone. (I know it shows in my voice). I want to share every bit of enthusiasm I can muster with every person I encounter today. Tennessee Williams once said "Enthusiasm is the most important thing in life." remember Mr bob Russ of the Sandusky-Register's quote "Put on a Happy Face---It is Contagious"... Mizpah ;-]]>
