Put a Positive Spin on Getting Fired

Ask Yourself? Is Getting Fired Such a Bad Thing for Your Life?

Laura Fleenor
After an individual gets fired or terminated from their place of employment, their first reaction is usually one of anger, but an individual should take into consideration all of the positive things that could come from their ending of employment with the company. Though it is often hard to do, given the circumstances, there are usually several positive things that can come from getting fired from a job.

If the company that fired or terminated you was not paying you near what you were worth, they may have just done you a favor. Many people do not attempt to find more suitable work until they lose the low paying job that they already had, and by getting fired, your job possibilities have just opened up. You now have all the time you need to fill out applications, and perfect your resume.

Many individuals hold jobs that are hazardous to their health, whether it be due to chemicals, diseases, or the simple risk of getting injured physically. Getting fired from your job, may be a way that you can find a job that is far less dangerous to your health and wellbeing. Chances are, your family would like to have you around for years to come, so getting out of a hazardous work environment, could be just the answer they have been waiting for.

Individuals are often required to work many hours of overtime, on a regular basis, and getting fired from your job can actually enable you to find a job that can free up more time for your family, friends, and hobbies. Not every job requires you to work the overtime, and in many jobs, it is optional, giving you the opportunity to work more hours on the occasion that you need more money.

If an individual held a job where they were generally treated poorly as an employee, getting fired from that job could be just what the doctor ordered. It will enable you to find an employer that genuinely cares about their employees, and knows how to treat their employees right. No one has to take abuse or degradation from their employers. You know what you are worth, so go out there and get it!

In closing, there are typically many different reasons and ways that you can turn getting fired into a positive event in your life, you just have to think long and hard about things. Positive thinking breeds better people.

But, when your told your services are no longer needed, they think a package deal is just wonderful,
then hire someone to fill your position is BS. The economy is BAD, the jobs are not out there, after 25 years,
and you are going to lose your home, being a single parent, its not good. Then the person that lets you go
has less of an education then you do and thinks he knows everything. It's unreal that the older generation
is a hell of a lot smarter then some of these you idiots that come out of college that seem to think
they know everything. The younger ones are firing the older ones only because we put there jobs into
jeoperdy. They don't get it. Never a so much as a verbal warning, let a lone a written warning is in my file,
but yet I was let go? Explain that one to me?
