Put the Rumors to Rest, Izzy and George Are Not Leaving Grey's Anatomy

Shondra Rhimes Sets Us Straight

I am a huge Grey's Anatomy fan and don't miss one show. When Katherine Heigl (Dr. Izzy Stevens) seemed to get sick because her dead fiancée indicated that she was going to die I figured she was leaving the show. I've seen her in other shows and movies so I wasn't surprised that she might want a change. I read articles here claiming she and George (T.R. Knight) were leaving and I thought that made sense.

However, Shonda Rhimes, the show's creator, is setting us straight. Neither Knight nor Heigl is leaving the show. During the 40th NAACP Image Awards she commented that their leaving was a rumor and it is not true. It seems that cast memeber James Pickens said they were leaving the show. He is now saying that he meant to wish them well since he heard the rumors and that he didn't have any information either way. What a way to start a rumor!Grey's Anatomy got three award and they are getting ready for the 100th episode. Heigl and her husband, Josh Kelley recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary. The beautiful and talented Heigl started out in 1998 playing a gun-totting doll in Bride of Chucky!

She is now one of the top five highest paid actresses. Katherine, 33, was in her first box office movie, Knocked Up, in 2007 and then in 27 Dresses which I really enjoyed on HBO. She is certainly in good company with Angelina, Roberts, Witherspoon and Diaz the four frontrunners. T.R. Knight born Theodore Raymond Knight almost 26 has been nominated for an Emmy. He is Dr. George O'Malley on Grey's Anatomy.

Knight finally came out after a controversy on the Grey's Anatomy set. He then released a statement through People Magazine in October 2006 stating, in part, "I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I'd like to quiet any unnecessary rumors that may be out there. While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interesting part of me." People Magazine

Grey's Anatomy makes sure that their situations can medically be true. When one Eric Dane's (Dr. Mark Sloane) penis' were broken I read an article that in fact can happen!

The title of the show is inspired by the classic medical textbook Gray's Anatomy, which revolves around Dr. Meredith Gray played by Elen Pompeo who began the show as a surgical intern at Seattle Grace Hospital in Seattle, Washington. Private Practive was a spin off of that and I think all of us fan are just holding our breaths under Dr. Shepard asked Dr. Gray to marry him!

I'm sure they both want to leave the show because it's gone downhill but they're tied in with their contracts.
