Put Together a Cupcake-Themed Bedroom #1: Walls
You can make your wall art for your child's room in the form of cupcakes. Buy white poster board, markers and/or paint and do your own cupcake design. Make sure to draw the cupcake as big as the white poster board so it will be more noticeable on your child's wall. You can also make smaller cupcakes to place around the larger cupcake. Use mounting tape or tacks to hang it on the wall.
Don't want to make your own art? Then buy some already ready to slap on the walls. Birthday Express sells adorable wall art that comes with a large cupcake that says "Lil Cupcake" right in the center. Smaller pictures of cupcakes as well as cherries and different colored polka dots complete the set. It even comes with a light switch cover (a piece that you attach to the cover). The decals are made out of vinyl and they come with a yellow squeegee. You can buy them for $39.99.
If you can paint the walls in your child's room, I recommend doing it. Use the colors of cupcakes that appeal to your child (like pinks and purples, etc). Go to your local hardware store to look over the paint choices.
Baby Bedding Town.com sells a clock that looks like a cupcake. It sells for $17.99.
Put Together a Cupcake-Themed Bedroom #2: Bedding
Bedding can really help make a room because the bed is often where kids spend the most time. Not just for sleeping but for lying on top of and playing or reading a book, hanging with friends, etc. There are several cupcake bedding choices to choose from. You'll want to shop online for the best selection.
One of my favorites is the three piece set sold by Gilbin from Amazon.com. The sheets are white with cupcakes and other goodies all over it with the word "Yummy" written in a festive pattern over the course of the sheet. The set comes with a fitted & flat sheet and a pillow case. It sells for $34.95. Laura Ashley also makes a sheet set that is strictly cupcakes. The background is white with pictures of cupcakes. The sheets come in twin and full. And can be bought through Amazon.com by Robin's Reads, Decors and More. It is available for $39.99.
Sure you can have normal pillows for your child to sleep on but give her something fun to cuddle up against by way of a cupcake shaped pillow. Kmart.com has an adorable pillow that looks just like a cupcake. It comes in pink and even has a faux cherry on the top. You can purchase it for $9.99.
You can make your child's headboard. Use a piece of wood and cut it in the shape of a cupcake (or have someone you know do it), decorate it and attach it to a regular headboard. If you're worried about it being too hard (and soft is best for a child's room), use a glue and staple gun to attach stuffing and material to it. It will be like a pillow that you child can lean against. Use cute material for the cupcake liner, the cupcake topping and you can use red material for a small cherry at the top.
Put Together a Cupcake-Themed Bedroom #3: Floor
A cupcake rug would be uber cute on your child's floor. Floors and Surfaces offers buyers a stand out rug that comes in a rectangle shape. The center of the rug is light blue with white flower type spots. The border is green with several cupcakes on each side. They sell it for $104 dollars. You can also buy a crocheted cupcake rug from an etsy seller here
Another cute floor idea is to have several plush cupcakes placed on the floor. Buy Costumes sells a plush cupcake that is complete with frosting, sprinkles and a cherry. One plush cupcake sells for $3.99.
Put Together a Cupcake-Themed Bedroom #4: Accessories
Accessories are key when decorating. A few knick knacks placed around here or there can add more fun to your child's room. Treasured Designs through Amazon.com has an adorable set of four cupcake bowls. They are ceramic bowls with lids and look just like cupcakes. They would be perfect for your child's jewelry, money or other small items. You can purchase them for $22.50.
Want an official "piggy" bank to keep your child's money in? Buy one that is in the shape of a cupcake! Imagine That Toys.com through Amazon.com. The bank looks like a pink frosted cupcake with a cherry on top. It sells for $14.99.
Is your child afraid of the dark or just need a little light? Cartoon Fans Club.com sells adorable cupcake nightlights that look just like a cupcake including the cherry on top! There are three styles but you'll be sent one at random. It sells for $16.99.
A super cute accent is the strand of cupcake lights at Amazon.com (sold by Closeout Zone.com). The lights are on a strand (similar to Christmas lights but cupcake style) and each light is covered by a cupcake. There are ten cupcakes on an 8 foot cord. Each cupcake is two inches. You can purchase these for $15.98.
