Putting "The Secret" into Play in Your Every Day Life

I've heard so many different opinions on the movie "The Secret" and can honestly say having watched it a few times, seeing the interview on Oprah and Larry King, and having implemented its teachings into my life I've truly been empowered by it.

I think that you can become overwhelmed and intimidated if you've only watched it one time. I remember frantically writing notes and trying to capture everything that the teachers were instructing me on and figuring out how I could utilize their message in growing my new business and simplifying my life.

I have to say my favorite instructor on the DVD is Lisa Nichols. She is absolutely amazing and so caring and motivated to help teens become more than they are and save them from suicide and abuse to themselves. I've gleaned a lot from her because you can actually "feel" her sincerity and truly see how her good intentions have given her a chance at wealth and prosperity in love, life, and happiness.

There are some online courses that I've been taking called The Masters of the Secret (www.themastersofthesecret.com). I wanted to share what I've been getting out of these courses and how anyone can benefit from these teachings. First I think we need to tackle the piece in the video that says you "ask the universe" and it will be given to you. As a Christian I totally understand that this puts a lot of people off and they are afraid that this DVD is anti-religion. Honestly this movie has been well done to facilitate all religions and beliefs by keeping things simple in using more of a scientific language. You can be atheist and not offended by this movie, or you can be very religious and believe in "any" God and this movie will still serve you well.

Instead of asking "the universe" I ask the Lord to help me attract the positive things into my life that will allow me to meet my goals. I've been raised to understand the money is not "everything," but it is how people keep score. It is a medium that allows you the freedom to have choices. My father has always taught me that it is a "choice" to drive a car that doesn't break down, live in a house that is safe and warm, and attend a school that is safe and can give my child the education that he deserves. What allows us to have these choices is money. My family has always paid a full tithe to our church, donated to charities, and learned to appreciate what we have and the fact we had to earn it.

I have also learned that "most" people do not have the same education about money and self-worth that I do. My husband and I have been married for 3 years. He comes from a background of his father who was self-employed "just getting by." They were never rich and never poor. There was always food on the table, but there were no fancy cars, expensive vacations, or frivolous living. His life was absolutely "normal," and then he married me!

In the first year we struggled a lot with my entrepreneurial endeavors and the amount of activity and fast paced living that I was accustomed to. He was great at managing money and I was great at making it so that did help fuel the fire into his opening up his mind to the fact that 9-5 and hanging out on the weekends was not the only gratifying lifestyle available. Recently we sat down and watched the secret together. We now have 3 businesses and 2 full time jobs and are able to manage it and work together as a team and have that unity.

In "The Masters of the Secret" courses, I've learned that "it's not failure, it's feedback." This has really helped me to let go of a lot of the fear that rejection can bring into my life and help me to actually engage into activities that are riskier as far as "rejection" but understanding that receiving this feedback will allow me to become even more successful. What I've found is that the more I engage and become active in my pursuit, the more that opens up to me (law of attraction) and I begin to expect the best and that is what I receive.

You must give before you receive. If you ask "the universe" for help, but you just sit their and do nothing, that is what you will receive... NOTHING! It's so important that you make a list of key actions you need to take in order to achieve your goal. If you don't know what those actions are, seek out someone that can help you to define them! Let that be your number one goal. The point is that you need to make the effort to get things going by planting the seeds. You also can't get frustrated if it takes some time. I started a new business in August 2006 and since the first day I shared my passion with others and really put myself out there. I contacted bloggers on the internet, spas, salons, boutiques, and women's online communities and got involved in everything that I could in order to get my name out there and learn from experts. This turbo boosted my business and within 6 months I am in 10 different states and have 20 teammates to assist in the growth of my new venture! It is now compounding with the efforts of my incredible team that is following in the same footsteps. I have everyone that joins my company watch the DVD before they really begin because it allows them to understand what it will take to succeed and make it a lot easier to succeed because they are prepared and using the force of the law of attraction to back their efforts.

If you haven't watched "The Secret" that is obviously the first place to start. If you've been contemplating it but were afraid that it might be against your beliefs, please have an open mind and realize that a teacher like Lisa that saves children from suicide (over 1900) and gives them a voice is one of the most Christ like people you could know. Take this tool and use it in your daily life to improve and perfect the choices you make today that will bring you your dream life tomorrow. I know that it will open even the most skeptical person's eyes to the possibilities that are available to everyone once they choose to engage.
