Q Cinema, Fort Worth's Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival, presents the Southwest premiere of "Violet Tendencies," the hilarious new movie from director Casper Andreas with writer and star Jesse Archer on hand to discuss the film afterwards June 3.

The event is "in your face" with its 12th annual, four-day festivities coming June 3-6 in Fort Worth, TX at the historic Rose Marine Theater near the Fort Worth Stockyards. (Source: Todd Camp).

"Politicos and 'Huffington Post' surfers will be familiar with the work of Chase Whiteside and Erick Stoll of New Left Media," states a Q Cinema press release. "Longtime festival friend Israel Luna will unleash the Southwest premiere of his Tribeca sensation 'Ticked-Off Trannies with Knives' with star Krystal Summers and the entire cast and crew in attendance."

There are several Texas-made short subjects, including Daniel Trevino's "Amateur," Tyler Cochran's "I Hate Josh," and Jonathan D. Quam's "Would Jesus Discriminate?" according to the press kit.

"We'll close the festival with the Southwest premiere of the riveting drama 'Children of God' from the Bahamas, and that's just a small taste of many more films, live music, art exhibits, and parties on top for this year's event," says Todd Camp, artistic director of Q Cinema. "It's been a tumultuous year for Q Cinema."

Tickets are on sale now through the Q Cinema web site at qcinema.org. Single tickets are $10, opening or closing night films are $15, opening party is $5, and an All-Access Q Pass $80.00.

The mission of Q Cinema, a non-profit organization, is to provide a voice for gays, lesbians, and bisexuals, and transgender persons by presenting films, videos, and live programs that represent the diversity of the community but educate, enlighten, and entertain.

In unrelated community news, "Girls in Wonderland at Gay Day" takes place in Orlando, FL also June 3-6. It's known as the "most magical weekend in the country with spectacular events from dance and pool parties, theme parks, comedy, and live music."
