Houston noise band Indian JewelrY is known for their psychedelic licks, massive membership list, and an otherworldly view-askew attitude. Associated Content chatted with Erika Thrasher (synthesizer, guitar, & vocals) spoke with them about their music and current tour.

Associated Content: How the hell are you doing?

Erika Thrasher: We is doing fine, thanks! Getting rested and tan for tour. It has been some hard rowing before but we've had some rest and fixed much gear all the while getting sharper in the mind and vastly more dangerous.

Associated Content: How would you describe your music?

Erika Thrasher: We have a lot of music, maybe it would be best if we used lot of descriptions... wallbanging, slow techno, heavy weather... those are just the start. Oh, and we've been called a direct ripoff of Suicide and the Royal Trux. You be the jury.

Associated Content: Wikipedia said you are known for your "droning vision music and seizure-inducing stage show." True or False? And have people really had seizures at your shows? Wow!

Erika Thrasher: People do many things at our concerts. We do only one thing- music. We don't even do that very well. Too many rats afoot.

Associated Content: While you have three core members, you have had a lot of unique other members and special guests. What do you look for in collaborators?

Erika Thrasher: Coming up with your people is the way it is done in the rap game. Everyone here has the warm in their bones and their rhymes down cold.

Associated Content: You're from Houston, what kind of musical legacy does that entail?

Erika Thrasher: In all honesty a spotty one. Artist for artist you have Lightnin Hopkins, Red Krayola, Frank Davis, the Introverts, Pain Teens, Rotten Piece, Truth Decay, Really Red, Legionairre's Disease, Geto Boys, A Pink Cloud, the Vulgarians, Entertainment System, Jana Hunter, Kairos, Rua Minx, the Wiggins, Balaclavas, How I Quit Crack, Thousand Cranes, Wicked Poseur, Tense/Kunst Fascion etcetera but the lines are clumped and dashed with many cronied knots and abrupt breaks respectively.

Associated Content: What can the kids expect from your shows?

Erika Thrasher: Grace and conviction.
