Qualities of a Successful Blogger

Belle Story
The most successful bloggers are self-motivated and self-disciplined. If you need someone else to always tell you what to do, blogging may not be the best fit. Have you ever taken one of those career aptitude tests? If it said your biggest weakness was following through on things, you aren't a natural blogger. If you're willing to change that aspect of your personality and make a commitment, the possibility for a successful blog is there! People are usually motivated when they're passionate about something; this is why it's important to blog about a passion. Do you have time in your schedule to blog an hour a day? If you can be consistent and stick to something, you will make a great blogger!

If nothing was worse for you than English class in school, blogging may feel a lot like homework! If you struggle to come up with something to write in a greeting card, blogging will only be a hassle. But, if you enjoy communicating through writing and you can't stop the words from spilling out, blogging might be for you! Blogging is more than just daily posts. It's responding to comments your readers leave, and commenting on other blogs. If you love the online community and already spend a majority of your time there, blogging will be fun!

You need to passionate about your topic. If you're trying to teach others to blog, yet you've just started blogging yourself, you may get frustrated and give up quickly. You want to be passionate about your topic so you will be interested in researching it and learning more so you can contribute valuable information. You'll wake up in bed with a smile on your face because you're looking forward to writing about your passion.

Is the internet your second home? Do you typically spend a generous amount of time on the web? You'll be researching on the web, posting blog entries, and visiting other blogs. So if you're dying to get outside and throw your computer out the window, don't blog!

Are you comfortable sharing your opinions with other people? If not, you definitely will have objections to sharing them with the whole world. As a blogger, you share your identity and personal information. Your interests and personality draw readers to you. Just like in the real world, not everyone will agree with your opinions. A successful blogger is someone who can handle all kinds of criticism.
