Ha, maybe so, maybe not so. Depends on how often your darling granddaughter will be coming to visit you. Maybe you'll see your darling granddaughter every week, or maybe you'll only see your darling granddaughter once a year or every few years. Depending on how far away your darling granddaughter lives from you.
So let's get back to decorating your darling little girls room, after all she's not grown yet. And you'll be happy that you did take time to decorate your little girl's room.
First do the walls and floor. Painting and stenciling will be easier to redo than wallpapering, also I think it is a little less expensive to paint than to wallpaper. But I am not positive on that. It would seem easier however to paint than to wallpaper as you shouldn't get tangled up with paint quite the same way you might in wallpaper.
Using a paint on your walls that leaves a surface that is washable is preferable especially in a child's room. Because if you use a paint that leaves a washable surface, you will find it easier to wash off, fingerprints, and unauthorized art work that your darling daughter may place on her walls, with her favorite crayons or markers.
*Note on that thought if you buy your darling daughter markers or crayons; buy the kinds that wash off easily. That saves a lot of hassle.
The easiest design changes you'll find for your darling toddler's room will be the walls, curtains, and throw rugs. The most expensive will be furniture.
Quality made furniture however will be worth the purchase price. So look for quality made, and skip the cheaper furnishings that you may find at your local discount store.
Quality made furniture may be found, at used furniture stores, flea markets, estate sales, and some yard sales. You may even find some things advertised in your local paper, or online.
When looking for quality made, look for furniture that is made of wood, not particle board. Also check that any drawers slide easily in and out. You don't want something that pulls apart. Also check all hinges and knobs; you want these to be secured not wobbly.
After all, your darling daughter is still a toddler after all. The last thing you want is for your darling daughter to pull of a knob and decide to taste it, ending up choking to death. Just because of a knob that was loose.
Next and this is especially true of used furniture, you need to make sure there is no peeling paint. If you plan to redo a piece of used furniture this is not as important, but you will want to take any peeling paint off outside. You also will want to do the sanding outside.
You can go online on to a website called ehow.com where you may find information on how to properly sand, paint, stain, and or stencil used furniture. I suppose you may even find information someplace on how to use wallpaper to cover a dresser or wardrobe. Not that I would recommend doing that, but it could lead to an interesting looking piece of furniture.
Ok, the key words for this article are look for quality made, durable furniture, that can be redone if you want to. If possible don't buy cheaply made furniture, because it is much more expensive in the long run.
