"Quantum of Solace" Discomforting Story

It's a continuation right where Casino Royal left off. James Bond (Daniel Craig) hits on a girl. Sexes a girl. Fights villains? Maybe. Quantum of Solace.

I was wondering what the hell I was going to talk about in this review. First I wanted to state that I don't really like 007 so that should help those that do to realize I might not be the best gauge for them if this is good or not. But most likely if you really like 007 you've already seen it.

What I really liked was the technology they used to show suspects, also M's (Judi Dench) computer at home with voice command. I love that kind of stuff. I enjoyed the explosions that were at the end of the film, some excitement before the credits. I love watching fire move around because it's so random and almost unpredictable. There is a death of a female in the film and she ends up on the bed. The way she looks is visually awesome. Quantum of Solace has that in spades. The visual aspects are stunning.

If only the story caught up then this movie would have been way better than Casino Royal, but it was not. The story lacked because the villains were not scary and defiantly not threatening. What they were doing was equivalent to the boring and trite story that Speed Racer had earlier this year. It was just as a drag. The only reason it did so well is because it is 007 movie. And just maybe those that wanted to see Star Trek XI's trailer and had some interest in seeing Quantum of Solace. I was one of those, by the way it was an awesome trailer.

Daniel Craig is, to me, a good James Bond. Of course I'm not a huge fan, but he is a good actor as was everyone else in this film. There was not really a James Bond girl as were girls of the past, though she, Olga Kurylenko, was hot as many others were and most likely still are. The problems were lack of good story, forgettable lines and no cool gadgets.

Major problem was that the villain was where? I know who some of the bad guys were but the villain was not a single person, someone that people can dress up as for Halloween and people go, "Hey you're that bad guy from Quantum of Solace." It was more like the villains (or supposed villains) were more like wallpaper; there but not.

Quantum of Solace was not a good movie by good movie standards. It made as much money as it did because of the name it carries. No movie should be about business like things or environmental, because those are just boring themes that are not exciting for cinema. A Bond movie with a forgettable villain isn't, as far as I can think, a good Bond movie but what do I know?
