Queen in Crisis Mode: Fergie, Duchess of York, Suicidal?

Queen Elizabeth is a take charge kind of woman. Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York and ex-daughter-in-law of Britains reigning monarch tries to be. But Fergie is no Queen Elizabeth and right now she needs to be to weather the storm she has made for herself involving the News of the World investigative reporter scandal, according to ABC.

Duchess of Debt: An Unfair Title?

Queen Elizabeth is said to have gotten fed up with the Duchess of York's spending habits during her ten years as the Queen's daughter-in-law. The Duchess was married to Prince Andrew and bore him two daughters during their ten years of marriage. But unlike lady Di, Princess Diana, Sarah Ferguson got a mere pittance when she and Andrew divorced.

Sarah's alimony amounted to $20,000 per year, according to ABC. That's a disgrace as an alimony settlement for a royal when Princess Diana's settlement neared $20 million. No wonder the Duchess of York is the Duchess of Debt.

Queen in Crisis Mode: Because She Duped Fergie Years Ago?

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Andrew should never have contrived to pay off Fergie with a pittance. They set up the ex-royal for continued problems financially. Fergie already had money woes when she was married. But how could an ex-royal be expected to live, and have security, for $20,000 a year, I ask you?

Sarah Ferguson bore Prince Andrew two daughters. It is an outrage that with all the money the royals have at their disposal they would make the ex-daughter-in-law scramble for a living in a world where she couldn't just go out now and get a day job. If she hadn't married Andrew, sure, she could do like the rest of us and make a way in this world. But she has been at the top of the totem pole. How many jobs can she really take? And wouldn't the Crown take issue with that, too, if she did?

Sarah Ferguson's Problems Now a Result of Queen's Disregard Before

Sarah was the one caught in the NY hotel room trying to make a buck off her relationship connections to Prince Andrew. But if the Queen hadn't been so greedy of gain, and to rid herself of a daughter-in-law she didn't like, the Duchess of York wouldn't be embarrasing the leader of Britain now.

Queen Elizabeth, as another female, should have had the decency to insist her ex-daughter-in-law be taken care of financially at the time of the divorce if for no other reason than her grandchildren. Now, the Queen's son and granddaughters--along with all the other royals--are the butt of jokes because of Fergie's financial straits. And what was Fergie to do? suspect that anyone trying to give her money was setting her up for public mockery?

Sick of Queen, Sick of Andrew, Sick of Entraping Press

Yes, the Duchess of York shouldn't be trying to cut a deal with businessmen in NY hotel rooms for access to Prince Andrew. It isn't her place and that wasn't an official office setting. But sleazy reporters shouldn't be preying on money-strapped ex-royals who already have low self esteem either.

And who cares if the Queen or Prince Andrew is upset? If they had done right by Fergie during the divorce proceedings they wouldn't keep dealing with the embarrasing fallout from her financially. How do they think it is ever going to get any better for her? Her options at producing an income are nil now. What skills does she have to support the manner in which she has to live as an ex-royal?

Suicidal Sarah Ferguson and the Queen in Crisis Mode

I hope the news from ABC about the royals in general, and the Queen and Prince Andrew in particular, are accurate and that they are concerned about Sarah Ferguson's mental state now. The Duchess of York has suffered innumerable (and yes, brought on by herself), publicly embarrasing situations. The press have made it their goal in life to uncover (and now set up) her fall from grace.

The Duchess of York, unfairly dubbed the Duchess of Debt, is probably suicidal and needs her ex-mother-in-law, the Queen, and her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, to step in and help her. She doesn't need their reprimands. She needs their forgiveness, understanding, and financial support.

Queen and Prince Andrew and the Price They Will Pay If They Don't Help

Prince Andrew and the Queen cheated Sarah financially, before, in the divorce agreement. Now's their time to pony up a fair settlement. It will be a win-win for them. Sarah will not have to beg, borrow and steal to stay financially afloat and they won't have to worry about future financial scandals.

But if they don't, and Sarah ends up--God forbid--dead (by her own hand), the royals will then have two dead daughter-in-laws and enough "we should have' memories to haunt them forever. And that's not including how the Queen's grandchildren will feel about her and their father Prince Andrew when they are older and understand what was really done to their mother, financially during the divorce...all to save a buck.
