I first heard about Queen Helene's while at a friend's house for a delicious Louisiana-style home-cooked meal. It was the middle of a Philadelphia winter, and I had recently returned from the warmth of Africa where dry skin was not one of the issues I faced. After a slight complaint about the crackly skin between my thumb and my first finger, Mandy returned from the bathroom with what seemed at the time like an extra large bottle of cocoa butter. Promising soothing relief, she told me to use as much as I wanted. I took care to notice the label, and soon after, I purchased my own bottle of Queen Helene's and have used it every day since.
Over the past six months, I have grown to appreciate Queen Helene's cocoa butter even more as I use it religiously to protect my growing stomach and breasts from dreaded stretch marks. Although many women firmly state that the cocoa butter claim against pregnancy stretch marks is only a wives' tale, I have yet to earn what many mothers consider marks of pride, and I will continue to lather my belly with Queen Helene's with high hopes of fairy tales coming true.
Since I began using the cocoa butter that I have fallen in love with, I have encountered many women who also swear by Queen Helene's. More times than I can remember, a woman has been at my house and used my bathroom, inevitably following her visit to refresh herself with a comment on how fabulous that Queen Helene is to have created such a lovely cocoa butter for all of us to enjoy.
