Hooray for blank books and new beginnings!
The story is ours to write, and there is no need to look to the past for limits. Why add limits at all?
What do you see in looking at a blank page, or a blank book? I see only wide open, limitless options, as it should be in our lives.
The old story, the old chapter, has been written, but more than that - it has been published. Every writer will tell you that written is nothing, because there is always editing. Published, though, is the past - it is too late to make changes.
What choice have we now but to lift our heads high and proclaim to the world, "You ain't seen nothing yet! You think that is me, all I am? You're missing it all, my friend, if you don't keep watching. What I am, truly, is yet to be shown."
Today's thought is to open that blank book, and make upon it the first marks of the life that we want to live, with no regards given to mistakes of old or spilled milk drying on the floor.

Post a CommentI love the first line-Hooray for blank books and new beginnings!
Great thought! It's nice to see you back with lots of wise advice to offer us! = )
Wonderful thoughts to begin the New Year with!
Yea, you're back! Yes, filling a blank page is a thrill and sometimes relieving but I can't figure out how to not want to go back and re-read certain chapters from years past and try to rewrite them. You're right those chapters have been published and it's too late to make changes.
Besides, the future is infinitely more exciting!
You have much wisdom. You must be an old soul.
