Question of Time

John Estes
A lot can be sung about the men and their guns
And stories of how the West was won,
A lot can be said about the men who bled
Fighting for a cause noble in their head.

But what can be said about me?
What will be said about me?

I've heard tales of knights and nobles
And the dragons that they fight
Its a question of time
And will I use mine right
And five hundred years from now
Will my name be known?
Will I be forgotten
Or have stories of my own?

If I die a rich man, they'll say I had money
I'd rather have something they can't take away

But what can be said about me?
What will be said about me?
What is my part of eternity?
What is my part of today?
Can I make a difference
And still live the normal way?
