Is This Guy the Real Deal, or What?
I like many in America, am intrigued by Obama. His story does have a fairy tale quality to it. He has a very unconventional life story. He has pretty much come from out of nowhere to the forefront of American politics in just four years. And to many, he seems like the political knight in shining armor they've been hungry for: a charismatic, charming, likable, attractive candidate who really makes you feel good after listening to him.
But....
What does this man really want to accomplish?
What does he really stand for?
He says he wants to end the war. Is that realistic? Can he do that in such a way that we get our boys home without leaving Iraq to the dogs and completely destabilizing the region which would only open the door for either A) another Saddam-like strongman to seize power, or B) Iran or Syria to do a remake of Germany and the Soviet Union's 1939 hit single "Why Can't We be Friends...who invade our neighbors?"
He says he wants to provide health care to everyone who can't afford it. You had me up until the "who cant afford it" part. How will that be determined? Right now, I can't afford the 400+ dollars a month it would cost me to have my wife insured on my plan, but according to Medicaid, I can. Who's gonna determine "can and can't" afford? Furthermore, where is the money for this plan going to come from? The government is up to it's armpits in debt. You're either going to have to cut spending or raise taxes. Of course, there's aways the Bush option: go deeper into debt and hope that at some point our grandkids win the ultimate power ball lottery.
He has also spoken in great detail about his personal faith. Personally, I am unconcerned about what a candidate says about their personal faith, be it Obama, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee or anyone else. You don't really know what they believe because you're not there when they turn out the lights and nobody's around. He says he's a Christian, but how does he really interpret the meaning of that? Is he running for president out of some higher sense of duty to help the helpless and defend the defenseless or is his faith just another resume' entry put in to sound impressive?
At his website, it says, "I'm asking you to believe, not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington, I'm asking you to believe in yours." A lovely sentiment indeed, but can it be done? Can this man change Washington? Can this man get people to stop caring more about Britney Spears' tabloid exploits and American Idol and Dom Imus and the Super Bowl and OJ Simpson and Jessica Simpson and The Simpsons and get people to start giving a damn about the country they are supposed to be running? Can he get Senators and Congressmen to stop concerning themselves with expanding their own personal power and start viewing the people who elect them as something more than "Useful idiots?"
I know politicians promise more than they can deliver, it's all part of the game. But when you specifically ask people to believe in you, you are asking for a lot. And in this game, we have enough "players." People are hungry for Mr. Right. If Obama is it, then great. But personally, I need more convincing.

Will you get out America from the precarity, the miseries, the subprimes...Will you creat an insurance lake in France for all of the poor people? Will you really stop teh Irak War and the violence, hate in our planet? Are you the real human who occupated the human and stop the exploitation by men men like in China... ? Barack is an empty suit with no real plans other than Change, Change, Change. Elect this clown and that's all we'll have left is pocket change when he has taxed us into oblivion to pay for his version on Universal Healthcare.
Aylce, what do you think of your great ethanol plan now that everything in the grocery store costs more! The last time I checked you couldn't eat petroleum products, but you can use them to make food and plastic. It is abject stupidity to use food products to make fuel when we have so much crude oil available to do that with. Our failure to increase the supply has lead to the price increases we face at the pump. Worldwide demand for crude has increased but not the supply, hence the price goes up when the supply goes down. Duh! DemocRATs don't you just luv 'em?
I didn't have a question kind a statement Hillary clointon is constantly say she is better prepared to be president how can any one be prepared when everyday is a new day and we all face different things everyday reagan when he was in office he had the great wall come down bush number one was basically only thinking about oil then clinton gets in the office and things was o.k but to me he cound have prevented what happened on 9-11 but left it for the president that we have now and the problem with bush is he's constantly thinking a bout the same thing as his father oil so each president goes in the offices not know whats going happen next so how can any body say they have more experience being the president if they have not been the actual president before and do't know what lies ahead
While researching the life of Mr. Obama, I found some questioning concern about his background and relegious beliefs. My question is, "is there any history of Muslim faith or following in his past?"

The best thing that Obama can do is prevent a global united attack against the bully USA. He is respected world wide and has diplomatic skills to restore the country's respect from other nations. He also has the ability to unite people across all age, gender, ethnic lines. He is a man for the people, who has given hope to the downtrodden and apathetic who feel helpless against our government. Sad that people do not do some research into Prescott Bush and his ties to Hitler, Kellogg, Root & Brown, Halliburton our Pres's history with the same and Cheney that dates back to Viet Nam war profits; nor knows the connection between Iraq and Dubai. They also do not seem to care that Iraq was switching to the Euro which was going to hurt the US in World Trade. Like her charming husband she has the ability to sell lies. A man that was willing to perjure himself under oath is bad news for the country to be First Man in the White House. He lacks integrity. Obama has to keep mentioning his faith, thanks to Fox news and Ms. Clinton that are playing on the citizens hatred of Muslims, in order to assure the people that he is, indeed a Christian. What can Obama do? He can get displaced workers retrained to use our corn to create biodiesel fuel like is being done in Brazil. This will not only create jobs, it will help lessen our nation's dependency upon oil and help green our environment. He can mandate tax cuts for people who install solar panels in existing structures and new construction and rescind tax breaks that were given to the top wealthy, the buddies of our elected officials. Cheney, Bush, and Clintons to name a few.
If one believes the current admin's lies about Iraq one will not understand that we would do well to pull our troops out and make restitution by giving the country to rebuild after our destruction it. Oil, like pharmaceutical, corporations that have their buddies in office are the cause of why we, the people can not afford health insurance. Ms. Clinton would like a plan that penalizes anyone not buying the mandatory single payer insurance. No telling how much she and Bill gets under the table from their involvement with those corps. Bill was caught and stopped in Arkansas passing legislation to make his buddy's firm richer and monopolize oil in the state. Much like Hoffman La Roche (and others) are setting the costs of prescription meds today. Bill, I read, is among those like Bush's bro that has his hand in the Dubai pie. One might do well to ask why smearing an opponent's name with lies is the only way Hillary can run her campaign.
