Unfortunately for Ms. Quets Monday is when, according to conditions placed on her bond, she will surrender to Ottawa police to be delivered to waiting U.S. authorities.
Federal lawyer James Bocking said he agreed to her release after hearing in court she intended to return to the U.S. to face charges.
Quets attorney following the hearing, "She's decided to waive her right to an extradition proceeding and go back and fight to get her children back."
He said his client has every intention of returning to North Carolina to face charges, which he said "may or may not proceed."
Justice Charles Hackland ordered Quets to reside with Robert and Mary Thompson, who posted a $5,000 bond. Two owners of a Kingston bed and breakfast where Quets stayed before coming to Ottawa also pledged $5,000.
"I believe birth mothers should have the right to raise their own children," said Mary Thompson.
An FBI warrant was issued for Quets' arrest after she failed to return the 17-month-old twins to their adoptive parents in North Carolina on Christmas Eve.
Quets has said she was suffering postpartum depression when she decided to give her children up for adoption and felt pressured to do so.
