I am a stay at home mother of two little girls. Though I am home with the children all day I still find it quite difficult to stay up with the household chores. Especially with children it is hard to keep the house clean because it seems the harder I clean, the harder they try to mess things up. There are toys all around the house, they never seem to stay in one area. How does one person who has all the time in the world keep up?
You need to keep up on the housework on a daily basis before it gets too bad. If you let it get out of hand you will never get caught up on the housework. Daily things such as dishes and laundry are essential to keep up on because they keep accumulating. I like to wipe the kitchen counters down when I am cleaning because it makes the whole kitchen look cleaner if the counters are cleaned up without a lot of clutter on them.
Divide all the chores up around the household to all the members of the family. Even the little things count, so if someone takes out the garbage while another picks up their toys, the less amount of chores and cleaning that you will have to do. Even if it takes them just a few minutes to complete, it is a few minutes of your time that you do not need to take out of your day.
Picking up misc. trash and laundry around the house will make your house look a lot tidier when you do not have the time to do a full a cleaning. It also helps when you have people around the house who are willing to pitch in and help with the chores. Setting a little time away each day and listing the tasks that you need to do will help you get the things done that you need to accomplish on a daily basis to leave your house in nice shape. The more things that are done by other people, the more time you will have to yourself.
