Quick and Easy Back to School Fall Hairstyles for Every Haircut

S. Whithers
With summer coming to a close and fall approaching, everyone's getting ready to go back to school. One important part of back-to-school planning is deciding on a great hairstyle. Of course, what's even better is having multiple style and fun hairstyles to choose from. Each of these hairstyles is quick and easy and has variations for every length and texture of hair.

Straight as a Pin

Long Hair and Medium Hair

All Hair Textures

1. Start with towel-dried damp hair. Spray hair with straightening spray and a heat protectant. Blow dry, angling the hair dryer downwards at your hair, with paddle brush until completely dry. Use a flat iron to continue straightening your hair, if you feel the need. Mist all over with shine spray.

2. Make an off centered part and pin your bangs-or just your hair if you don't have bangs-on the larger half off your forehead around your temple area with a decorative pin or two.

Short Hair

All Hair Textures

1. Start with towel-dried damp hair. Work a small amount of hair gel through your hair and spray with a heat protectant. Blow dry, angling the hair dryer downwards at your hair, with paddle brush until completely dry. If your bangs are shorter than eyebrow length, slick them back with a little more gel. Mist all over with shine spray.

2. If your bangs are longer than eyebrow length, part them off-centered and pin the larger half off your face around the temple area with a decorative pin or two. If your bangs are shorter and you've slicked them back, place a pin or two in your temple area, holding back whatever hair you have there.

All Lengths of Hair

Straight Hair

1. Start with towel-dried damp hair. Work curl enhancing mousse through your hair, while also scrunching it. Allow it to air dry. If your hair still has little to no wave to it once it's dry, use a 1-inch curling iron to curl random sections of hair.

2. Spritz sea salt hair spray around your hair while tousling it.

Wavy Hair

1. Start with towel-dried damp hair. Spritz your hair thoroughly with sea salt hair spray. Scrunch and twirl your hair. Allow it to air dry.

2. Spritz more sea salt hair spray around your hair while tousling it.

Curly Hair

1. Start with towel-dried damp hair. Spray your hair with styling spray, work a dab of gel through your hair, and then spritz heat protectant spray all over. Blow dry your hair using a paddle brush.

2. Spritz all over lightly with sea salt hair spray while tousling it.

Glamorous Curls

Long Hair

Optional: Start with towel-dried damp hair. Work volumizing mousse through hair and spritz thoroughly with heat protectant spray. Blow dry with a large round brush until completely dry.

1. Start with completely dry hair. Mist all over with a heat protectant spray. Divide all of your hair into 1 to 2 inch sections and wrap each section around a hot roller. Allow the hot rollers to cool completely and then remove each one.

2. Use a large round brush to brush through your hair gently. Don't brush your hair too thoroughly or you'll remove the curl. Simply brush each section once or twice. Spray all over with hairspray.

Medium Hair

All Hair Textures

Follow the same steps as for long hair, but use smaller hot rollers as needed for your hair length. Use the largest rollers your hair can accommodate.

Short Hair

All Hair Textures

1. Start with completely dry hair. Mist all over with a heat protectant spray. Divide all of your hair into 1 to 2 inch sections and wrap each section around a curling iron. Use the largest diameter of curling iron that allows you to wrap your hair completely around it at least once. When you release each section, take the curl and reform it into a flat spiral and pin it to your head. Allow all of the pinned curls to cool completely.

2. Remove all off the pins from your hair. Use your fingers to gently comb through your hair. Be careful not to over comb your hair: only comb through a couples times.
