Everyone loves pizza right, so why not switch it up a little and make yourself some delicious French Bread pizza. I like to keep things simple so this is something that takes very little time and each person can add their own toppings.
What you will need:
- 1 Loaf of fresh French Bread
- 1 Can of pizza sauce
- 1lb of shredded mozzarella cheese
- Your choice of toppings
First preheat your oven to 350 degrees and get out a large metal baking sheet pan. Next cut your bread once down the middle in both directions so you have 4 large pieces of bread and believe it or not that was just the hardest part.
Place the pieces of bread on the baking sheet pan and add your sauce, then your cheese and your other toppings. Then bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted. Remember the bread is already cooked so this doesn't take long.
This is also a great little recipe to get creative with. Since the bread is already cooked all you are really doing is adding toppings, fresh tomatoes are my personal favorite.
Also you can really change how the bread cooks. For soft bread like crust just put your oven on broil so only the top of the pizza cooks. Just remember to keep an eye on it because this will make the top cook much faster. For a crunchier crust bake the pizza for a little longer.
This is a great kid dinner or if you slice the pieces a little smaller make a great appetizer or snack.
