Quick & Easy Flan

Ok, if you have not eaten Flan then you are missing out on a great, traditional Mexican dessert! You don't have to be a professional chef to make it, and you don't have to go to a Mexican restaurant to enjoy Flan. You can make tastey Flan right in your own kitchen!

You will need these ingredients:

1 cup of sugar

1 can of sweetened condensed milk

1 can of evaporated milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

½ teaspoon of cinnamon

4 eggs

How to make Flan:

(*) Preheat oven to 350.

(1) Heat the sugar in a skillet over medium high heat.

(2) When the sugar starts to melt, lower the heat and stir until it has caramelized.

(3) Pour it into a tube pan and press it up against the dish's sides as well. Allow this to get hard.

(4) Place the tube pan in a container or sink of ice cold water. This will make the sugar crack.

(4) In a medium bowl, mix together the milks, cinnamon, vanilla, and eggs.

(5) Pour this mixture over the sugar.

(6) Put the tube pan into a bigger pan of hot water so that the hot water comes half way up the sides of the tube pan.

(7) Bake in oven for about an hour and a half. After an hour, keep a steady check on it to make sure it doesn't get overly done. When the Flan is firm, it is done.

Let the Flan cool in the pan and then release it onto a dish or plate of your choice. This Flan can be decorated with cherries or strawberries, caramel, and even whipped cream if you wish to jazz up its presentation.
