Quick and Easy Poker Party Snacks

Jill Davidson
Keep the Poker Party crowd happy with these easy-to-make snacks. Here are a few of our family favorites that are sure to be a hit with your friends!

Party Pinwheels

four 10" flour tortillas (if chilled, bring to room temperature)

one 8-ounce package of cream cheese, softened

one cup of shredded cheddar cheese

one 3-ounce package of pepperoni slices. Large slices work best but you can also use the small ones.

2 teaspoons of oregano

½ teaspoon of garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

Mix the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder and oregano together. Spread ½ cup of the mixture to the edge of each of the four tortillas.

Divide the pepperoni into four equal amounts and place them down the center of each tortilla. Roll each tortilla up jelly-roll style so the pepperoni is running the long way of the roll. Wrap the rolls individually in plastic wrap and place them in the refrigerator for a couple hours to firm up.

Slice each tortilla roll into ½" sections. Arrange on a platter and watch them disappear!

Although this recipe calls for pepperoni, you can substitute thinly sliced chicken, turkey, ham, salami, or other meats. Use a variety of meats if you wish, to suit individual tastes.

You may want to serve these snacks on a tray on top of ice to keep them chilled if your party goes long into the night. Otherwise, they can be left out at room temperature for a couple of hours.

BBQ Weenies

One cup of catsup

One cup of grape jelly

One package of mini smoked sausages.

Mix the catsup and jelly in a saucepan over medium-low heat, and stir until the jelly has melted into the catsup. Throw in the little sausages and heat through. Keep the sausages and sauce warm in a crock pot on low heat.

Although the catsup/grape jelly combo sounds kind of strange, it will have a delicious BBQ-like flavor. Don't tell your friends what's in the recipe until they have tasted them!

Veggie Pizza

One large pizza crust, the kind that comes in a tube like refrigerated biscuits works well.

One eight-ounce package of cream cheese, softened

One cup of sour cream

One package of ranch dressing mix

One cup of shredded cheddar cheese

Assorted raw, chopped salad vegetables: carrots, peppers, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, olives, etc.

Prepare and bake your pizza crust if needed, and allow it to cool to room temperature. Mix the cream cheese, sour cream, and ranch dressing mix, and spread it on top of the cooled crust. Place the vegetables on top of the cream cheese mixture. Top it off with the shredded cheddar cheese. Cut into serving-size pieces and enjoy! You'll also want to keep this one on ice if it will be left out more than a couple of hours.
