Quick and Easy Recipes for Your Next Football Party

Hosting a football party can be a lot of fun with good friends, good beer, and good food. Though don't be fooled into believing that good food has to take a lot of time and effort to prepare. Unlike your favorite football team who spends a lot of time getting ready to hit the field these recipes won't take much effort. The best part of it all is that they are sure to be winners at your next football party having your guests cheering for you as well.

The first delectable dish you can serve at your next football party is what I like to call Tacos in a Bun. These are super easy to make and is sure to give your guests something to talk about after the game. To make this dish you will first need to prepare the ground beef filling according to package directions from your favorite packet of taco seasoning, or you could use a homemade spice mix. While the ground beef is cooking prepare your buns by squishing canned biscuit dough into 2 greased muffin tins (to make 12 total, though you can make more for a larger party), leaving space in the center for the filling. Once the beef is cooked use it to fill the biscuit buns and top with shredded cheddar cheese. After your filling has been placed in the buns place them in the oven and cook according to the directions listed on the biscuit can. Once cooled transfer to a plate and serve the dish to your guests. For less than thirty minutes you have just created an easy appetizer, or main course, that is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

What could be better than Pigs in a Blanket when watching a game of football? How about breakfast sausage wrapped in cheese and rolled up in crescent dough, or Sausage in a Blanket? Football games tend to start during the perfect time for serving brunch making this recipe perfect for your next get together on football Sunday. To make you first need to cook your sausage links. You can typically find microwaveable breakfast sausage links inexpensively from your local grocery store which would make this dish even easier. While the sausages are cooking you can prepare the "blanket" by unwrapping the crescent dough triangles from canned rolls. Sprinkle shredded cheddar onto each blanket and then place your sausage in the middle. Wrap the dough around your sausage link and bake in the oven according to the details on the can of biscuits. Let cool and enjoy. This makes a great dish for those early football games.

Beware as this next recipe may get a little messy if your team scores a touchdown. While this recipe takes longer to cook, since you will use a crock pot, it still takes little effort. This tasty recipe is for what is called a French Dip or Roast Beef Dip sandwich. First you need to place your chuck roast into your slow cooker; it's a cheap cut of beef that can become tenderized in the crock pot. Next you will need to add your broth. There isn't much limitation when it comes to which type of dipping broth you should make. A few ideas would be to add beef broth, gravy mix (such as au jus which is thin gravy great for dipping), half prepared Italian dressing and half Worcestershire sauce (we actually use this as a steak marinade but I always like to heat the remaining marinade to dip my steak in), or whatever else you can imagine. Once you've added your broth you can cook your roast in your slow cooker until it is easy to shred. Once shredded allow to cook in the juices and broth for another hour. After your beef is cooked and slightly cooled place the filling into hoagie rolls and spoon the broth into dipping cups for your guests to enjoy at your next football gathering.

If you are looking for something light to serve at your next football party why not try corn on the cob? While the idea may sound a bit on the boring side you can spice things up with different butters and spreads for your corn. Offering your guests butter along with spices and parmesan cheese will give them the ability to customize their corn on the cob. For some ideas for topping your corn check out this article on Different Ways to Flavor Corn on the Cob. This recipe idea is great for football parties is sure to be a big hit as guests can eat them with their hands.

Another great hands-on food option to serve your guests is sandwiches. There are a variety of ways to prepare sandwiches which allows you to offer a spread at your next football party. Cutting your sandwiches into four triangles will allow guests to enjoy more than one type of sandwich and since they are mainly eaten by hand, are very portable. A few options you may consider as sandwich filling include: egg salad, tuna salad, lunch meat sandwiches, grilled cheese, or even grilled ham and cheese among others. This makes a great replacement option at your football party in place of a traditional party sub sandwich.

With these great recipes you can offer your guests something a bit different at your next football party or get together. So forget the traditional hot chicken wings and chips with dip and try one of these ideas at your next party. With little effort from you to prepare you can save your energy for cheering on your favorite football team.
