Quick and Easy Tips for a Successful Christmas Party

Bridget Ilene Delaney

If you want to have a successful Christmas party, it is important that the environment, food, and any activities all go well. Planning all of these things can be stressful and they can also be expensive. Follow these simple tips to keep Christmas parties fun and inexpensive.

Table Cloth

If you need a Christmas table cloth, do not go looking to buy a new table cloth. Put any table cloth on your table and then cover it with Christmas gift wrap. Christmas gift wrap can be purchased for a dollar and it makes a great design for a Christmas table cloth.

Centerpiece

If you need a centerpiece for your table, use what you already have. If you have an Advent wreath, it makes a perfect centerpiece. If you don't have an Advent wreath, but you have a clear or transparent plastic or glass decorative vase, put Christmas ornaments and optionally the fake needles from a fake Christmas tree if you have the type of fake Christmas tree you need to put together.

Place Cards

If your Christmas party is formal enough to need place cards, use old or cheap Christmas cards to make them. Cut the front off so the picture shows and fold the picture in half so it faces outward. Find an empty spot in the picture to write the guest name and put it where the guest is going to be seated.

Keepsake Ornaments

If you want your guests to have a keepsake ornament from your party, all you need is old cardboard, scissors, a one hole punch, wrapping paper, glue or tape, and some ribbon. Cut out Christmas shapes from the cardboard. Let each guest wrap a shape in the wrapping paper and secure it using glue or ribbon, cutting any extra wrapping paper from the ornament. Use the one hole punch to punch a hole at the top of the ornament. Tie a loop of ribbon around the hole so the ornament can be hung on a Christmas tree.

Snacks

If you are serving snacks that are supposed to be easy to eat and grab, make them easy to grab by using broken pieces of raw spaghetti instead of toothpicks. This way, you are helping the environment and nervous guests can nibble on the raw spaghetti.

Drinks

When serving any drinks, hot or cold, make them Christmas drinks by adding a candy cane in the drink. This is a perfect treat for eggnog, hot chocolate, milk, and coffee. Peppermint goes surprisingly well with other drinks, too.
