Quick Exercising Ideas for Busy Moms

Moms Get Moving

Most working moms like myself cannot find the time to exercise. Even stay-at-home moms find it difficult to exercise. Then after a long day at the office or a day at home raising the kids, we transform into a chaffeur in the afternoons. Running our children to football, baseball, soccer, ballet or cheerleading. After school activities can become year round. Who can find the energy to exercise after all of that? We all know that exercise is important, no matter what our age or weight. When busy moms can't find the time to exercise, what it comes down to is, we just have to get creative and make the time. You don't have to go join an expensive gym. Find an exercise partner to help keep you motivated and accountable. Exercising alone is no fun and goes by much quicker with a friend. I find the best time to exercise is early mornings and, trust me, I would rather be sleeping. Getting exercise out of the way first will allow you more time with your family in the evenings. I hope the following exercising ideas for busy moms will help you.

Go To Work Early, if your employer will permit it and you have the open space at work, start an early morning exercise class with your co-workers. You would be surprised at how fast it could catch on. If you prefer, schedule the exercise class during the lunch hour or at the end of the workday. You will need access to a TV/DVD player and, of course, exercise DVD's. Packing you a bag the night before with your work clothes, a hairbrush, deodorant and perfume will be a big help for busy moms who are limited on time. Wear your exercise clothes to work, pull your hair up and you're ready to EXERCISE. After exercising, run to the bathroom for a quick change; be sure to use that deodorant and perfume you packed. Instead of feeling tired and groggy, you should feel energized and ready to start the workday. Once you get the class started, have all your exercise partners bring different DVD's. Having a variety will prevent boredom and just about all busy moms will have an exercise DVD sitting somewhere on a shelf.

Start A Neighborhood Exercise Class In Your Living Room with some of the stay-at-home busy moms that live nearby. If you choose to use this exercising idea, be sure to pick the home with the largest living room, move some furniture around and you are ready to go. If you have children that are not of school-age, exercise during their naptime or have a planned playtime with the other children. This is a good way for busy moms to get to know your neighbors, make some new friends and get into shape. If you want to add a little fun, try to find DVD's that offer some type of dance steps, such as belly dancing or line dancing. Here are some exercising ideas for busy moms that need to get out of the house for awhile. First, ask your husband to commit to watching the kids after he gets home from work at least three days a week. Then take a walk in your neighborhood with friends, join a dance class or exercise class. Check to see if your local church offers an exercise class, if they don't, check into starting one. Remember, all you need is an open space, exercise DVD's and access to a TV/DVD player.

Don't Waste Time Sitting on the Side Line...start walking! If none of these exercising ideas for busy moms that I have mentioned are good for you, don't give up yet. If you are a busy mom that spends the afternoons taking your kids to some type of practice and find yourself just waiting for practice to end, here are some more exercising ideas for busy moms like you. Instead of sitting there on the bleachers or in a lawn chair reading a book, get up and find a place to start walking. With most sports there is usually a track nearby or a large field that you could walk around or look for a nearby park. Invite some of the other busy moms that are waiting and that are probably just as stressed out as you are to join you in a walk. Walk away that stress, get in shape and get to know the other parents at the same time. If there is no other option, you could always help with practice, most coaches would welcome any type of help.

None of these exercising ideas for busy moms may work for you, but I hope that they have helped to encourage and motivate some of you that struggle, as I do, with finding time to exercise. For the busy moms that think my exercising ideas could possibly work for them, go ahead; don't be afraid to give it a try!
