If you'll be hosting a Labor Day party this year, you should be commended for your hospitality. Throwing a Labor Day party is a big job, and you will likely spend several days preparing for the big "end of summer kickoff". If you're like most people, you don't mind setting up the party, but you DREAD cleaning up after the party. No one likes the clean up process. But, if you plan ahead, you can avoid some of the work involved. Keep your home looking nice through your entire Labor Day party, and shorten clean up time by following these quick Labor Day clean up tips.

Paper products - Buy inexpensive paper products to serve food and beverages. Arrange plastic silverware in an attractive basket, and then dispose of them after they've been used. These products are recyclable, and using them will greatly reduce your clean up time after the Labor Day party.

'Throw away' serving trays - Purchase inexpensive aluminum pie plates for serving, and other "throw away" type products. Reminder - If you can recycle it, and don't have to wash it, it is your friend.

Accessible clean up - Place trash cans in visible areas. Guests will be more inclined to clean up after themselves if a trash container is readily available.

Recycle it! - In addition to trash cans, have recycle bins out and labeled. Playfully inform guests that you are "going green" and encourage recycling.

Butt buster - If you permit smoking, have ash trays available. This will prevent people from flicking their "butts" into the lawn for you to have to pick up later.

Prevent water marks - If you have coasters on tables, people will use them. If you don't, you're setting yourself up for water leaks and stains on your furniture. Have coasters already on the tables before guests arrive.

Serve yourself cleaning - Set out one or two containers of cleaning wipes. If someone spills a beverage, and they have cleaning wipes available, they will likely clean the mess up themselves.

See how simple these ideas are? All you've really done is planned ahead, but all of these quick Labor Day party clean up tips will make an enormous difference in your clean up time. Now go have a great time!
