Quick, On-the-Go Makeup

Sometimes we just don't have as much time as we would like to primp ourselves in the morning. Read on to find out how to shorten your getting ready time without sacrificing a put together image.

Start off with a clean, moisturized face. If you have excessive redness or flaws that you wish to cover then start off with concealer. I suggest a stick concealer because it is less messy and you can easily control how much you want to use. Take the concealer stick and rub it on the back of your hand to warm it up. This makes it easier to apply. Then take your ring finger and pick up the excess concealer from the back of your hand and cover up your imperfections. Try not to rub, but dab instead. The reason I do this underneath the foundation is because I don't have to worry about blending it in perfectly or differences in color between my foundation and concealer. I usually skip this step unless I find it necessary.

Next, apply a tinted moisturizer with a wedge sponge. My very favorite is Laura Mercier Oil Free tinted moisturizer. It is the perfect amount of coverage and gives me a beautiful glowing and youthful affect. I use a sponge because it soaks up excess tinted moisturizer which prevents any cakeyness or streaking.

I next apply Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Linen. I love this product because it works as a primer and eye shadow. It works as a concealer for the lid because it gets rid of any redness or veinyness you might have while also acting as an excellent primer.

Then I take a brown eye kohl and thinly line my eyes. It is natural but gives definition to the eyes. After that, if I don't have enough time, I simply apply mascara without curling them first.

If you are looking tired, line the waterline of your eyes with either a white or peach kohl eyeliner. This gives the illusion of wider eyes and being awake.

If your eyebrows are sparse, use a tinted eyebrow gel. This fills in the brows and shapes them in one step.

I finish it up with a tinted chapstick. This is great for adding a tint of color and moisture without going through the stages of chapstick, lipstick, and lip gloss.

If you are looking good but still feel tired, spritz your face with water, like the Evian mist. This will wake you up while also setting your makeup and add a glowing effect to your skin.
