Repaint your front steps for an instant lift. Keep in mind darker colors last longer and tend to hide dirt better than the lighter colors.
Make sure to reinforce your mailbox if it leaning to one side. A mailbox is almost always the first impression of your home due to the position of it out front. Nothing is better than a sturdy well maintained mailbox. Plant bright flowers around your mailbox for that added curb appeal.
Spend an afternoon and pressure wash your house. A cleaner house always looks better. Do not forget to wash the windows and clean out those gutters!
Reattach any hanging shutters and lose roof shingles. For a more dramatic affect repaint your shutters.
Paint your front door for a fresh clean color boost. Change the doorknob and hardware on the door for a complete look. If you worry about having to get new house keys then take your new lock to your local hardware store. They should be able to match your existing keys with your new lock.
Step back from your home and take a look. If you have limbs that obstruct the view of your house then have them cut down or trimmed.
If you have a boring porch then spruce it up. Consider adding a few hanging plants. If space permits, an inexpensive new patio set will to the trick.
Make sure your lawn is well maintained. Freshly cut grass says you care about your home. Lead guests right to your front door by planting flowers along your walkway.
Make sure your yard is clutter free. Ideally inside of your home every item has its own place. You should carry that theme outside of your home as well. Garbage should be placed in garbage cans. Children toys should be kept neat.
Replace old and outdated house numbers with new ones.
Change out older lights. By replacing old lighting on your home you are not only changing the outward look, but you are adding value.
