Quick Tips for Cleaning Outdoor Furniture

RONYAE
It's that time of year again, where you pull out your outdoor furniture for the upcoming warmer months. Most people who are organized and meticulous, generally have no problems with pulling out their outdoor furniture. Simply because they have already cleaned their outdoor furniture before packing it away during the winter months.

If that's not you, then I'll share some home tips that will make pulling out your outdoor furniture a breeze. Well, it may not be a breeze with all the cleaning, but in no time will your outdoor furniture be ready for you and your guests to enjoy using.

If your outdoor furniture is really dirty from sitting out the weather all summer long, and maybe even winter, a little bit of water is not going to get them clean. It will only add to the dirtiness. Trust me, I've done it before and had an even bigger mess to clean.

And if you are anything like me, you want your outdoor furniture just as clean as the furniture inside your house. To obtain this type of cleanliness, there are several ways to go about getting the look. But I will only share the most important tips to get you to where you need to be to have clean outdoor furniture.

The first step will be to rinse down the furniture with maybe a yard hose, giving the outdoor furniture an overall wet base to start with. There are several solutions to clean the outdoor furniture with: mild detergent, soap and water, or either vinegar, which is my all time favorite. I use vinegar for anything and everything!

Now that the furniture has been moistened, you can now began the cleaning process. Wipe the outdoor furniture down with the vinegar and water cleaning solution, making sure that you clean small parts like inside the designs (if any) of the outdoor furniture. Many patio sets have unique designs that catch dirt and debris. Also keep in mind of the small crevices that catch dirt in the seams of your umbrella that goes with your table.

Be sure to clean the legs of the chairs and tables. Nothing looks worst than a clean tabletop and grungy legs on your outdoor furniture.

After you have washed it with the vinegar and water solution, rinse it down again, in order to rinse away any debris or dirt maybe left in places that you may have missed. If your outdoor furniture looks good enough to eat off of, then you've completed the hard part. Now, the only thing left to do is allow your outdoor furniture to sit out in the sun to dry. Be sure to open your umbrella up and allow it to dry entirely. Opening your umbrella also allows you to spot any places you may have missed while cleaning the outdoor furniture.

If all is good, then you're ready to start enjoying your outdoor furniture. Have fun!
