Bills are never a welcome sight. But, when one you takes you by surprise, will you be one of the millions of Americans who, as per a recent Wall Street Journal article, give in and plunge into overwhelming debt? There are ways, legitimate ways, of earning money, fast, that can get you out of your rut. So, before you panic over that shocking bill, explore these options and find out where your strengths lie.
An unexpected bill can come from any number of sources including sudden illnesses, vehicle accidents, acts of nature etc. The reality is that not everyone has an emergency fund or the specific insurance to cover these sudden demands on their already strained finances. It is also excruciatingly difficult to borrow during these hard times. But the costs must be met, and met quickly!
Thankfully, you are already endowed with skills and aptitudes that can translate to a little quick cash given the right task. There are hundreds of little things that can be done to raise money quickly with very little investment of time or training needed. Start off by identifying what you have at your disposal and how these resources can be utilized in commercially viable ways.
You can get started on little jobs around the neighborhood; take care of lawns, wash cars, or join a paper route. There are dogs that need walking and houses with children that need sitting. You can pass your hand at the strings, piano, pipes, or even skateboards by tutoring. You can even teach English in community centers. These jobs don't pay very well individually but together can add up to a decent sum in a short time. Make a quick buck using your car or van. Pizza delivery can pay off quickly in tips, but make sure to keep your hands away from the pepperoni. Do airport pickups and mini moves. You could also simply rent out your truck or driving skills for people moving with no physical work needed.
There are many opportunities for the creative and the talented for quick money, online. Take care to avoid the minefield of scams and spam, and direct yourself to where your abilities take you. For those with good aesthetic sensibilities and artistic flair there is a near endless supply of designer work -- Photoshop proficiency not mandatory. Writers need only find their niche and create content that counts.
Before you concede to debt or selling your valuables make sure to take a good look around. Your next quick buck might literally be right around the bend.
