Quiet's Apologia

Brendan W Vittum
Quiet's Apologia

You might call it a weakness
as some do, or not as others
do not - for himself?

He has yet to find his conclusion
on the matter; the time Bones terms
the quiet time, the splintering
time.

Whichever the case, weakness
or strength, when the outside
world's sanity screams loudest
against the shore of his inner
mind; when most he ought
stand and scream loudest; the silent
man becomes ever more
silent, swamped in a wave
of perceived external expectation,
demand -

Mixed

With the internal command
of impossible standards,
responsibilities.

A man - Bones withdraws, leaves
unintended impressions in the minds
of those cared for; impressions
not the blame of the impressed,

Impressions
the only logical conclusion
of the silent
responses.

Very thought-provoking and reflective. A unique poem.
