Here's a great opportunity to see Hawaii and quilt at the same time. Why not think about a cruise on Holland America that will have you quilting and sightseeing Hawaii?
Sponsored by AccuQuilt, All American Crafts Publishing, Bernina, The Electric Quilt Company, Hoffman of California, and the Sew Hut in San Diego, this cruise will also benefit leukemia and lymphoma research. There will be lots of classes by instructors Rob Appell, Sylvia Pippen, Barb Vlack, Laura Wasilowski, and Rose Hughes during this 14-day cruise. Of course, all classes will be offered during the daytime and while the ship is at sea so that everyone will have a chance to disembark and tour each of the Hawaiian islands.
The price includes all meals and shipboard accommodations, shipboard entertainment, an onboard quilt shop, all quilting classes, Welcome Reception, complimentary use of Bernina and Janome machines, Show and Tell, World of Quilts Travel tote bag, prizes, gifts, and more. It'll be a fun and learning experience for all.
Sylvia Pippen is a well-known Hawaiian applique designer and you'll be learning the technique of sashiko and hand applique from her. Her new design, "Bamboo Garden" will be featured as a two-day workshop as well as other classes that she'll be teaching. Rob Appell will have a class on free-motion quilting where you can learn his tips and tricks for quilting.
February 4-18, 2012
$2,149 for Quilters, $1,899 for Non-Quilters
Per Person/double occupancy
The cruise itinerary will sail from San Diego on February 4th and will visit the islands of Hawaii, Mauai, Kauai, Oahu, and a stop in Ensenada, Mexico before returning to San Diego on February 18th.
