Quixtar Fires Team Trainers

Woodward and Brady Released

Paul Bright
In an effort to protect itself from unsavory opinion in the business world, Quixtar announced the end of business relations with several independent partners due to unethical business teachings.

Quixtar, a multi-level marketing company focused on supporting and creating retail business opportunities for individuals, severed ties with 15 independent businesses related to their team training organization as well as other organizations that used their materials. Those organizations, in turn, filed lawsuits against Quixtar.

At the center of this controversy are Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady, the creators of Quixtar's Team training division, also known as Team of Destiny. Woodward and Brady worked with Quixtar in order to clean up some of Team's alleged inappropriate business teachings such as use of unauthorized materials and inappropriate positioning of the opportunity. Quixtar, formerly known as Amway, feared that if the teachings continued, the company and Independent Business Owners (IBOs) would face legal actions against them. IBOs are the individuals who sell products that Quixtar markets, such as their own brands of paper towels, vitamins, and energy drinks like XS. IBOs can get the products at discount prices but can get them at even deeper discounts if they recruit other IBOs. Quixtar avoids becoming an illegal pyramid scheme by not allowing IBOs to take from the profits of their recruits by instead earning bonuses based on their recruits' sales.

Woodward and Brady felt that they could do better business than Quixtar by operating their own company rather than fixing up the Team training division. Woodward and Brady had reached the upper levels of the Quixtar IBO chain, earning well over 6 figures per year in bonus income. Other Diamond-level executives, such as Randy Haugen, have also resigned. According to Quixtar, Woodward and Brady want relief from their non-compete clause in their Quixtar contract. Because Quixtar feels that Woodward and Brady have refused to change their practices, they have been terminated. The company also sought a temporary restraining order and preliminary order of injunction against Woodward and Brady; it was granted today by a Michigan District Court. The injunction was filed to prevent Woodward and Brady from trying to recruit other Quixtar IBOs, gain business from them, or attempt to disparage Quixtar's reputation.

Quixtar claims $6.8 billion in sales through the Quixtar.com website. Quixtar also works with a number of partner stores like Barnes and Noble, Office Depot, and Dell. Quixtar generated $500 million in eight years from the partner stores.

I WAS SUCKED IN TO THE CULT FOR FOUR HOURS! NOT SO HAPPY ABOUT THAT EITHER! IF YOU ARE SMART WORK HARD AND HONEST AND MAKE YOUR MONEY THE WAY YOU CAN STILL RESPECT YOURSELF IN THE MORNING! NOT BY TELLING YOUR SO CALLED FRIENDS THAT THE GRASS IS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE BECAUSE GUESS WHAT IT'S NOT!

How is it "legit" to publish a press release from Quixtar on their own lawsuit?

The same people get the profit from the CDs and Seminars as any other CD and Seminar - the people who produce the CDs and Seminars!

For me personally - the content of the Team Seminars and CDs is way underpriced if anything. Experience it for yourself and you would know why I say that.

    To Paul Bright:
TEAM is a transparent organization, unlike many others. Instead of the dollars only going to top leaders, all profits are put on the table and distributed through profit pools. As opposed to Quixtar, who keeps the majority of the profit, making building a business so difficult, we were only able to do it through the amazing system TEAM provided. What truly successful individual do you know of who does not continue to educate him/herself in professional and personal development? For the measely $6 CDs and books under $20, it would be a bargain even if that money went to the creators... but TEAM puts it on the table and lets the IBOs qualify at increasing levels. Who else gives it all back?????

Paul Bright, I'll ask this question over and over. Who should get profits? Those who've built large organizations I think. How can u argue with that. Unless you're against system tools in the first place. And if you are, introduce me to a diamond that doesn't use them.

Spartan, our reporting of news is very limited. If the "free the IBO" people would put out press releases, then I could report from them. Other than that, we are not allowed to use mainstream news reports or any reports by other news media sources- only press releases and other legitimate forms.
For my TRUE OPINION about the Quixtar business, I suggest you read this:

At least Quixtar doesn't sell new and unsuspecting IBO's CD's to learn with. Those CD's can be bought for a mere $900.00 a set.

  • Paul Bright8/24/2007

For those of you posting, who pays for those motivational CDs and who keeps the profits? Who gets the money from those seminar tickets?

Wow, Have any of your TEAM members ever done the Quixtar bonus math? There is not that much money to be made in Quixtar unless you a really high up. There is, however, a ton of money to be made in promotional materials, which is where TEAM members are making all of their money. 95% plus of people who join spend much more then the will ever make. Amway had strict rules in place in order to be classified as a legal pyramid. Team preached ways around those rules for years (they never focused on retail sales, and "tricked" the system to show they were retail sales). Read up on illegal pyramids, and you'll realize that Team is the illegal one, not Quixtar (who has already proven so in court). Personally, I don't like Quixtar either, but they are not illegal, just annoying.
