Quote of the Week, by Alfred Lord Tennyson
"Its Better to Have Loved and Lost" is Often Quoted but Do You Know Why This was Written?
He was educated at Cambridge and perhaps became known as the leading poet in England Despite his personal life being such a challange, he wrote some of the greatest poetry of the Victorian age. He also wrote "Ulysses" and "Morte d'Athur (The death of Arthur") . This is the story of the King of the Roundtable which became known as "Camolot" in the movie theaters of today.
His life took a turn when in 1850 he married. His wife and friendshps helped him to enter into a literary life and helped become the center of English society.
He died in1892 but the sentiments expressed in his famous poem "In Memoriam" have out lived him to this day and still hold true.
"I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most. 'Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all."
by Alfred Lord Tennyson
