by Oswald Chambers
What great wisdom there is in this quote. Experience makes us learn as we go along even when it is things we would prefer not to know about.
Oswald Chambers was born in 1874 and didn't live very long, dying in 1917. However in his short life he made an impact on the world. He has no intention of becoming a minister ti begin with, as went Kensington Art School and the University of Edinburgh to study art and archeology. However he felt a calling to God and became a well known Scottish Protestant Christian minister and teacher in the early 20th Century. While in Edinburgh he decided to transfer to Dunoon College where he started teaching and devoted a poetry society to Robert Browning his favorite poet. After four year he decided to preach around the world as he felt the Bible didn't satisfy the teachings of Christ and he wanted people to know about the true Christianity. He died of a ruptured appendix in Egypt while ministering to the wounded New Zealand and Australian soldiers after the Battle of Gallipoli. He truly only wrote one book, Baffled to Fight Better, although more than 30 books have been attributed to his name. hHis wife continued to comply his records and thoughts, publishing them after his death so people would know of his work.
