Rabindranath Tagore won the Nobel prize for literature in 1913. He was born in 1861in Bengal India and was a devoted friend of Mahatma Ghandi. At seventeen he was sent to England for a formal education but was educated at home by a religious father who was the leader of Brahmo Samaj, a new religious sect in Bengal at the time that believed in the ultimate monastic basis of Hinduism. Later in life he became the voice of India's spiritual heritage. His poem illuminated the world with their wisdom. He was also an artist and song writer of renown. He died in 1942 at the age of 82. If you have never read any of his works, you should as he is amaster of poetry.

Post a CommentI think what he's saying is that we can learn from our errors. After all, what would we learn in life if everything always went right? I've always believed that we can learn something positive from the negative in life. Wonderful choice this week. I enjoy reading the quotes you choose. They really make a person think.
