T.S. Eliot was a Poet, Dramatist as Well as a Critic

T.S. Eliot was born on Sept. 26, 1888 in the United States but became a British citizen in 1927

He was a poet and dramatist, He was one of the foremost writers of the 20th century. He pursued writing with a passion and studied at Harvard, Oxford in England and at the Sorbonne in France. He was the winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1948 but also won the American Medal of Freedom in 1965. His piece called "The Wasteland" was one of the most influential piece of work of his era.

He was a heavy smoker; between that and the London air which was bad for him Eliot finally in died in London in 1965 from emphysema.

    T. S. Eliot - what a great philosopher! I took a material risk in life once and lost. I found out in a hurry how far I could go in that arena. Is that experience pushing me to go farther? Yup. What a brilliant man. Thanks for sharing a great quote of the week.
