Quran Burning on September 11, 2010 - Why I Believe It's a Horrible Idea

Pastor Terry Jones, of Gainesville, Fla, feels, I am sure, a great deal of pain, and desires to even a score. The problem is that he wants to burn a sacred text, but it is not sacred to those who were responsible for the 9-11 attacks of 2001. Those responsible claim it is sacred to them, but it is really how they have warped it that is sacred.

If Pastor Jones would think about it, he is actually making those radicals, those extremists, so much stronger, because he will be giving them an excuse to cause more pain. More pain to us as a Nation, more pain to the World, and more pain to those around them. There are things other than this proposed act of violence against a sacred text that has already been raped and molested by radicals like those responsible for the 9-11 attacks, but burning it and further molesting it is not a viable way to go. It is these radicals' culture's text, and they have been raping it and molesting it, warping it, to fit their picture of what it should be, in order to mold their societies so they could live like kings, for hundreds of years. There was a reason most women were not allowed to learn how to read.

Pastor Jones, please, find another approach. There are many. Perhaps founding a shelter for domestic violence victims, or book drives for abused children, or safe houses for those who have been religiously persecuted overseas... Burning an inanimate book, a sacred one at that, to get a message across to those who have brainwashed themselves, is not the way to get a message across to those who would hear you, which is where you can do the most good. To the radicals who think placing the Quran on the ground is wrong, but who feel it is good to twist what it states in the text itself, they are already lost, and will never return.

The above is my response to the article found on Yahoo!
