QVC.com: Paradise of Online Shopping

Long lines, poor customer service, messy stores with clothes and merchandise strewn about, isles too small to maneuver a stroller around and just plain rude shoppers are only some of the things that give make serious shopping anxiety. Yes, that's right, a woman who hates shopping. I love the rewards of shopping, awesome new stuff! However, most of the time, it is just not worth the hassles.

The obvious solution to this quandary would be online shopping. So what's the problem? I am a constant skeptic. What if it doesn't work right? What if it doesn't fit? What if it doesn't come on time? Why is it so cheap? These are just a few of the questions I ask myself. Being both a single mom and full time student the last thing I have time for is waiting in line at the post office to return something that I bought online and was not satisfied with. After all isn't one of the purposes of shopping online to save time?!

But don't be discouraged! The answer, my friends, is QVC, specifically qvc.com. You can find just about anything you need or want on one website. They have clothes, shoes, purses, make-up, jewelry, electronics, furniture, toys, gardening items, tools, electronics, computers, sports gear, cooking utensils, bedding, all types of gadgets, even food and the list goes on. They have designer brands as well as more affordable items. Many things can be purchased on "easy pay" where you pay a portion each month for a few months. To make it even more convenient you can apply for a QVC credit card.

I have personally purchased two wallets (love them), a hair straightened (works fabulously), several items of jewelry (all gorgeous and perfectly sized), several pairs of shoes (cute and extremely comfortable), bare minerals (an awesome gift), clothes (cute, comfortable and well made) and several kitchen items (very handy). I have only had two misfortunes with QVC. The first was a purchase of a blood pressure monitor that didn't take accurate readings and the second was an eye shadow that arrived broken. The first had to be returned but it was surprisingly painless, although it did require the aforementioned trip to the post office. In the case of the eye shadow, however, all it took was a quick call and a new one was delivered with in a few days.

There are two ways to go about shopping with QVC. The first is the classic way of watching QVC on television writing down the item number and calling in your order. My mother, who is computer illiterate, has ordered this way with out any problem. I, on the other hand, rarely find myself in front of a television and therefore find it much more convenient to surf their extremely user friendly website to find merchandise and then make my purchases on line or add items to my "wish list" to purchase later. Many of the items online also allow you to watch the video from when it was presented in television as well as helpful reviews from people who have already purchased that item.

I purchases about 90% of my Christmas gifts on qvc.com this past year and was able to escape the misery of the holiday crowd. Let me assure you, I will defiantly be doing the same next year. For $5.00 extra I even had some gifts delivered beautifully gift rapped and with a personal card attached!

So, next time your surfing the net or dreading going into another crowded store make your way to qvc.com and same yourself some time and sanity. You'll be glad you did!
