I have four computers in my home-one desktop and three laptops. The desktop is plugged directly into the small modem but I get wireless on the three laptops. Even when all computers are in use, the speed is still great. I get the lowest package that is 1.5 Mbps but they have speeds up to 20 Mbps for $80 a month.
If you have big files to upload, that poses a problem since it takes forever and you simply can't do it at times. Also, if you wan to play online games such as World of Warcraft, the Internet speed I currently have is too slow for that. Since I'm a freelance writer, everything I need to do is easily covered with the slower service. I don't see a need to upgrade.
When I had Internet through Cox, I was getting their 13 Mbps through the bundled package deal and it was frustratingly slow and the connection would cut out several times a day.
Qwest's customer service is average. I'm often on hold, and it's a tossup as to whether you'll get an operator who really knows their job or one who seems like they could care less and just want to get you off the phone. Thankfully, I so rarely have a problem that I don't need to deal with their reps often.
For the average user, Qwest's 1.5 Mbps Internet at $39.99 a month is a fabulous deal.
