Qwest's Slogan: "Spirit of Service?" I Don't Think So

Qwest's Slogan is Ridiculous, Considering that Their Customer Service is Ridiculously Horrible

The Denver area telephone service provider is Qwest, whose slogan is "Spirit of Service." Ironically, I have found their customer service to be absolutely atrocious. Before I go on, I have to point out that I do still have Qwest DSL service, but only because I don't want to switch to cable internet and I don't think I have any other options. If I knew of any other DSL provider in this area I would switch in a heartbeat.

I have had nothing but problems and frustration with Qwest since I signed up about a year ago, and I've talked to others who have said the same thing. The Qwest employees are usually very friendly and polite on the phone, but they just don't fix anything. Every time I call they say they'll get the problem fixed right away and then nothing happens. I end up having to call back and listen to someone else apologize and promise to fix the problem. Now I just start off by asking for a manager because I have no faith whatsoever in any other employees.

Right from the start they set up my account incorrectly, and when I called to fix it they changed my account number because they had to re-do everything, and it still didn't get it set up right. I had to spend several days on my cell phone explaining and re-explaining the problem before it finally got fixed. Then my automatic bill payment through my bank was sending my monthly payments to the wrong account number because I didn't realize that they had switched it on me.

So instead of investigating why payments were being sent to a closed account, Qwest just let the credits accumulate on that account while my other account became delinquent. I'm still battling with them trying to get the delinquent fees credited to me because they had my money, it just wasn't being applied to the right account. Grrrrr...

If cable internet is an option for you, I would recommend going that route and saving yourself a lot of time and frustration.
