Qwiki the New Way to Search the Internet, is it Better Than Google or Facebook
Qwiki Netted $8 Million in Funding
Qwiki will allow users to hear story telling instead of search. Qwiki will change the way people use the Internet but will it change our lives? It depends on how you look at this. If it's hard for a person to sit, search and read, then yes it's beneficial for some people.
Qwiki is not like a typical search engine that spouts out a list of topics but instead reads a story to the user. The story telling seems to be a great idea but the fact that you have to sit and listen before getting to what you are really looking for within the story will take time. For many they will not have the time to sit and wait for a story to read aloud what they are looking for and this means people might not use this service as much as first thought.
The new platform Qwiki offers has netted around $8 million in funding. CEO Doug Imbruce hopes to build a company that will keep up with Facebook and Google.
Qwiki will have information on popular topics like Lil Wayne, Columbia University, Kayne West, Parkinson's disease and Ferrari's, international space station and more. Users will also hear storytelling about natural wonders, monuments, artists, actors and different cities throughout the world.
Is the Qwiki platform going to be the next big thing to hit the Internet? Will Qwiki surpass Facebook and Google? Will users like the platform better because it's storytelling or will users prefer the regular search engines? Guess we will have to wait and see what users think.
