Game Background

The farmer is trying to breed rabbits to use in making pies. Your job is to rescue the cute rabbits from becoming someone's meal.

Gameplay

The objective of this skill-based simulation is to rescue all of the rabbits. Your game character is flying around in some sort of flying device. Control the flight of your game character by using the arrow keys on your keyboard. Once you have your controls figured out, you will need to get going with saving the rabbits. To do this, lure the rabbits by using a giant carrot. The rabbits will hop and move towards the carrot. You goal is to get the rabbits to move towards a teleporter. Once a rabbit enters the teleporter, it is assumed that the rabbit will be teleported to safety.

There is the possibility of losing rabbits. One way of losing rabbits is having them fall over the ledge and into oblivion. Try to avoid this from happening. Losing too many rabbits will mean you will have to restart the level.

One useful hint that you are told about and taught to use early on in the game in the earlier levels is the use of your ship as a pushing object. You can push the cages that the rabbits are held in or even the rabbits themselves. Your ship can also be used to stop rabbits from falling over the ledge.

At the bottom of the in-game screen, you can see how many rabbits you have saved out of the number of rabbits available in the level. You can also view the number of rabbits you have lost. The third fraction is of most significance because it tells you how many rabbits you are required to save in order to stop the timer and proceed through the rest of the game. You will need to save the stated amount of rabbits in order to complete the current level and unlock the next level.

Once you have passed a level, you will be shown an evaluation of your performance for that level. More specifically, you will be told how long it took you to complete the level, your fastest time for the level, and the total number of rabbits that you have saved out of the possible number of rabbits that you could have saved in that level.

Every now and then you'll get a comic sequence of the farmer. You can skip these are enjoy them at your leisure.

The first few levels of the game will guide you through the basic controls needed to complete the game. There are a total of 25 levels for you to complete.

Game Review

Rabbit Rustler is a fun little flash animation experience that is great for short breaks. The gameplay is not too intense and thus makes the game relaxing. The music also adds a nice touch and further adds to the relaxing atmosphere of the game. The graphics could be improved, but this could just be a different in tastes and style.

Overall, Rabbit Rustler scores a 8/10 for its good level of entertainment value.
